Christmas is a unique time. Some love it, others despise it.

For LGBT people, Christmas can be a wonderful time with their partner or their own extended family or even their family-of-choice.

Some people though find the commercialism of the UK Christmas experience wears out its welcome long before December 25.

We have the antidote.

Do Christmas – but just make it super-gay.

Avenue Christmas

Forget Avenue Q this year and make your way to “Christmas Avenue” – the home of Cologne’s gorgeous gay and lesbian Christmas market.

Pack your bags and book your flights now because one of the world’s one and few only Gay and Lesbian Christmas markets is now officially open.

Perfect for picking up something rainbow for the tree, something super gay + LGBT for your home as well as fun and special gifts for your families-of-choice.

There is shopping, food and entertainment there. Check out the performance stage and programme of events happening at the far end of the market.

Of course while in Cologne, don’t forget to check out the world-class gay nightlife, restaurants, shops and bars you can find all through the city – and especially around the gay community’s “Bermuda Triangle”.

Some vitals

The Gay and Lesbian Christmas Market is open now in Cologne’s gay and lesbian “Bermuda Triangle” area in the centre of the city — between Schaafenstraße and Pilgrimstraße.

The market runs from now until the 23 December, everyday from noon to 10pm.
